Brescia University College held their homecoming luncheon not to long ago, but this luncheon was more than just a meal.

2 Alumni were given special recognition for their achievements at the event, and given awards to commemorate how hard they work and what they do.

Jennifer Broxterman was one of the 2 alumni given an award.

She received the Sister Mary Lou McKenzie Young Alumnae Award of Merit, which is given to young graduates who demonstrate leadership, role model behaviour and have made outstanding accomplishments in their field and in their local community.

Broxterman, definitely fits under this category as she has become a registered dietitian , but returned to school as a Masters Thesis student in the Masters of Science Food and Nutrition program, has made publications for breast cancer research and pre-diabetes, owns her own business and donates her dietitian expertise to the UWO varsity women’s ice hockey team and Crossfit London.

In doing all this one would expect that Broxterman would be very run down.  However, Broxterman doesn’t see all she does as work.

Broxterman is very passionate about what she does and thoroughly enjoys it.  She says she’s very lucky to be able to do something that she loves and genuinely enjoys for a living.

Broxterman was very excited to win this award, and was glad that her loved ones were able to share the experience with her.

Wishing you health & happiness,

Jen
