2011 CrossFit Games: Canada East Regional Day 2 Midday Report

Jennifer Broxterman is an avid CrossFitter. CrossFit is both a sport and way to work out that is spreading like wildfire around the world.  Broxterman is currently representing CrossFit London at the 2011 Canada East CrossFit Regionals, which collects the best individual men, women, and teams from all of Eastern Canada (Ontario and all provinces going east), to determine who will make the CrossFit Games (aka the “CrossFit Olympics”) later this July in California.  She survived the CrossFit Sectionals 6-week open competition and qualified as one of the top 60 individual women in Eastern Canada, but gave up her spot to compete with the CrossFit London team (3 men, 3 women).

Today, day 2 of 3 of the Regional Competition, she and workout partner Andrew Stevens won workout number 3, which consisted of:

1 MAN: 21 deadlifts (275 lb) + 21 box jumps (30″) + 15 deadlifts (275 lb) + 15 box jumps (30″) + 9 deadlifts (275 lb) + 9 box jumps (30″)

followed by

1 WOMAN: 21 deadlifts (185 lb) + 21 box jumps (24″) + 15 deadlifts (185 lb) + 15 box jumps (24″) + 9 deadlifts (185 lb) + 9 box jumps (24″)

… for a combined time of 9:00 minutes and first place finish overall.  Team CrossFit London currently sits in 4th place overall of 21 teams, heading into Day 3 of the competition.  The top two individual women, top two individual men, and top two teams will advance to the CrossFit Games.
